NBCK Concert Band
The NBCK Concert Band is made up of adults and advanced high school students, and plays standard concert band repertoire, accessible to community musicians. The band plays a mix of marches, show tunes, and band classics that are sure to connect with musicians and audience members alike!

I was strongly involved in music when I was younger but have taken some time off
I may not be the strongest player but I enjoy rising to personal challenges and contributing to a group
This group meets on Mondays from 7:00-9:00 pm.
NBCK Jazz Band
Our Jazz Band is made up of adult community members and advanced high school students. The band plays a mix of jazz standards and contemporary big band music, friendly to both musicians and our audience. The NBCK Jazz Band season runs from early September until mid May and produces two concerts per year in addition to other community performances in the Battlefords and beyond.

If you have previous jazz experience and can answer yes to one of the questions below then this is a group for you.

The Jazz Band regularly rehearses on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm.
Youth Ensemble
The NBCK Youth Ensemble is a group comprised of school-aged students from throughout the Battlefords! This group is meant to supplement and enhance the music opportunities present in schools. Youths can expect to play a variety of pieces from the traditional/contemporary concert band repertoire. Interested students may also form their own chamber ensembles (saxophone quartet, brass quintet, etc.) or jazz combos!
IS THIS BAND RIGHT FOR ME
If you are a student under the age of 19 and connect with any of these statements, then this ensemble may be right for you!
I love music and want to have more opportunities outside my school's program
I just started playing my instrument and want to get better
I want to meet students from other schools who have the same interests as me
Our Youth Ensemble meets weekly on Mondays from 5:00 pm-5:45 pm.
